Prayer:  Cover us as hearers of your word!  Allow us to feel your spirit move in new ways to cause a change in our hearts, minds and souls.  Remove anything that is not of you and renew our spirits.  Grant us your covering from the top of our heads to the souls of our feet.  Move me Lord behind the cross, so that your word will be known to all who hear this reflection.  It’s in your hands, thanks be to God!

On any given day, everyone could ask God for an attitude adjustment and get one.  The gift of humility that is given is not always received because of our human condition may be struggling with God’s gift of grace, love and mercy at the moment.  God offers each of us life lessons that involve humility and love through scripture, reason, tradition and experience but from time to time we miss the connection.  That is when we either ignore God or just say “I have not received any directions from God so I am just going to move ahead.”  However, if we have received these directions by faith, is there any fruit or evidence of change in our attitudes?  For some of us the evidence is change, while others the evidence is pain.
