Intro and Prayer: Where did your attitude come from? Have you mastered goodness and righteousness to the point where you just don’t have to worry about sin anymore? Knowing that we are seeking perfection in Jesus Christ, is humility guiding all your life decisions. Guess what, all of humanity, including you and I, remains a work in progress. Think about all the things that we have tried to do alone and through lots of lessons in humility we have learned that we cannot make it without God’s love, mercy, forgiveness and grace. Today’s reflection is called, “Working on my attitude!” and it will help us look at deliverance, forgiveness and humility. Let us focus on meditating on these concerns as we take a moment to hear God’s Word for us today through Joel 2: 23-32, Psalm 65, Luke 18: 9-14 and 2 Timothy 4 from the Bible Experience. This is the Word of God…let us pray.
Gracious Lord, thank you for delivering us from sin. Thank you for saving us. Search our hearts, minds, souls and bodies to remove old pain and replace it with peaceful humility that is grounded by your love. We know that only your healing power will restore our lives. As you grant us newness, thank you for breathing love into our hearts, granting us peace of mind, clarity of thought, and a spirit of joyful obedience as we become doers of your word. Grant us great faith as we rise from our knees to offer you praise for everlasting hope. May we be filled with the Holy Spirit as we walk in deliverance daily from this moment forward by your grace; in the powerful and loving name of Jesus we pray…Amen. |
